Wills & Trusts
A Will is a written legal document that details what is to happen after a person's death.
Typically a Will names a guardian to care for any minor children, a personal representative who will be responsible for managing your affairs and the beneficiaries who will receive the proceeds of your estate. Your estate generally consists of the money and property you own in at the time of your death. Determining the property and funds that may become part of your estate should include reviewing bank accounts, financial documents, insurance policies, retirement funds and jointly owned property.
Since the property you own often changes over time, or the persons you wish to have as personal representative, trustee or beneficiaries may have changed, or you may simply change your mind about how you want to handle your affairs, an periodic review of your Will is a good idea.
A trust is legal entity created for the benefit of a named person(s) or group. Trusts are often used to provide financial resources for minor children. The firm can assist you in helping to determine what type of arrangement is right for you. We often assist people by drafting a last will and testament or other appropriate documents. We draft wills and trusts that range from simple to complex. Our firm prepares wills, power of attorneys, advance medical directives, and trust agreements.

Estate Planning
Estate planning traditionally entails the orderly distribution of property upon a person's death. To adequately achieve your goals we recommend that your planning also includes the management of property during one's lifetime as well as planning for retirement, disability, or the care of a minor child. The firm assists clients with all of their estate planning needs.
We start by meeting with you and learning about your concerns and desires. We then review your current assets and liabilities as well as a review of any Will, power of attorney or trust agreements that may currently be in place. Once we have a full understanding of your goals and your current situation, we will create the necessary documents to help you achieve your goals.
Whether you want a simple Will, a complex Will with trust agreements for your children, or an even more complex instrument, we can meet your needs and requirements at a reasonable cost. We assist with many of the following matters: wills, power of attorneys, advance medical directives, trust agreements, retirement planning, closely held corporate stock or similar interests, lifetime gifting programs, charitable planning, and family owned business planning.
We also offer planning opportunities for a wide variety of family situations, from families who are primarily concerned about their minor children to families who desire to create multi-generational trusts or specialized estate planning to assist with the problems associated with aging parents, handicapped children and issues related to the contesting of a will. Our mission is to help clients carry out their wishes, while taking into account wills, taxes, insurance, property, and trusts so as to gain maximum benefit of all laws.
